This 700-word game story took on a bit more of a feature feel, especially after strong winds, clouds and chilly weather struck the men’s 3-meter springboard preliminary round. I wanted to highlight just how bad the conditions were and how Hixon was able to get through it by being mentally strong — all on a pretty tight deadline.
