The road to the Big 12 volleyball championship used to always go through Lincoln, Nebraska or Austin before the latest round of conference realignment. The two teams have combined for 17 of the 19 conference titles while they finished first and second in the conference eight times.

And even after Nebraska left for the Big 10 in 2011, the two have continued that rivalry, which was taken up a notch last year when they met in the Lincoln Regional final where Texas left with a 3-0 sweep.
