Speed and bunting are two words that have become synonymous with senior Brejae Washington. During her time at Texas, Washington has stolen over 128 bases and reached on number of bunt base hits. Fittingly, it was a bunt base hit against Oklahoma State on April 27 that Washington broke Lexy Bennett’s Texas all-time hit record.

After coming to Texas, Washington wanted to be more of a power hitter, but before the season she and the coaches agreed that her and the team would be better off with her using her speed. That, along with her move to the lead off spot, has been beneficial for the Longhorns.
